City of Annapolis Ordinance 28-23
The use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers in residential districts within the City of Annapolis is prohibited as of January 1, 2025 for the preservation of “public peace, morals, and welfare.”
Violations can be reported via photo/video to: constituentservices@annapolis.gov
City staff will reach out to them to inform them about the transition assistance voucher program.
- Maximum decibel level allowed in residential zones between 7 am and 10 pm is 65 decibels.
- A voucher program is in place for both professional landscaper and residents who can get a credit for the purchase of electric leaf blowers.
- More awareness needs to be raised among residents about the benefits of leaving at least some of the leaf cover in garden beds and around the base of trees and shrubs as sources of free nitorgen fertilizer and mulch to protect roots escpecially over winter.
